District Beaver Water Fun Day and Big Night Out June 2015
Members of the Beaver Colony had the opportunity to try out new adventurous activities and take part in an outdoor sleepover event, joining with many other Beaver Colonies throughout the district at Ide Hill Sports Ground. The weather for the weekend was very hot and dry too!
Zip Wire, Archery, Grass sledding, Water Slide, Slack Line Walk, Inflatable Obstacle Course, Activities and experiments with Water were a part of the many activities on offer throughout the day. Water Aid joined the adventure and enabled beavers to think about those who do not have ready access to clean water. Money was raised to help in building wells to help provide this in some developing countries.
The evening woodland walk and camp-fire gave a chance for Beavers to wind down before they got ready to go to sleep in tents. A wonderful overnight outdoor experience for them- once they got to sleep! This was part of a County wide challenge to see how many Kent scouts they could get to sleep overnight 'together' at the same time. They certainly added their numbers to this goal quite well.
